Sebastian Lazell

Chairman

Formerly Senior Vice President (SVP) of Unilever’s Oral Care category and SVP for Vitality across Unilever Home and Personal Care, Sebastian took up the role of Chairman in May 2008.

Sebastian joined Unilever in 1985 as a graduate from Oxford University. During the early years of his career he held various UK and European marketing roles for brands such as Persil and Domestos, and was involved in the early days of regional working in Lever Europe.

He moved to run Unilever’s Oral Care business mid-2005, and in 3 years built a strong, effective global category, better able to improve the dental health of millions of people around the world.

In 2007 Sebastian also took on leadership of the work to embed the Unilever Vitality Mission fully in Home and Personal Care, defining a strategic framework for all Categories and brands, and stimulating and enabling them to develop initiatives to improve consumer Health, Wellbeing, and Environment.

Sebastian has a 1st in English Literature from Oxford University, where he also played a lot of cricket and met his future wife, Belinda. They are married with four children aged between 11 and 17. He enjoys skiing, golf, tennis, cricket, cinema, reading and wine, and spending as much time together as a family as their many demands permit.
