Peter Boone
Introducing Mr. Peter Boone Vice President Marketing.
Born in Vlissingen, The Netherlands in October 1970, Peter studied Business Administration, with major in Strategic Management, at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 1992 he graduated on a thesis around the base logic behind the existence of corporate structures. Recognition and financial support provided by an award granted to this thesis (Hewlett-Packard Strategy Price 2003), gave Peter the unique opportunity to complete his thinking on corporate strategy through a comparative and in-depth study of companies like Hewlett-Packard, Canon, ITT Corp., and Unilever. For this work, Peter was awarded a PhD degree in 1996. In the mean time, Peter worked in various marketing roles at the Information Services division of ITT Corp. over the time period 1992 to 1996.
After 4 years working for ITT Corp., Peter joined Unilever in 1996 as strategy analyst with key responsibility to support the development of an aggressive growth agenda for the foods business in Latin America and spreads category globally. This role gave Peter huge exposure to the strong capabilities, values, and brands of Unilever and convinced him to commit himself to a longer term career with this foods, home and personal care company.
In between 1998 and 2003, Peter worked as marketing and new venture director on two of Unilever’s foods brands in the Netherlands, Blue Band and Bertolli. In 2003, Peter became Vice President Marketing & Sales Latin America Foods Solutions, based in Sao Paulo. He led portfolio and customer development for all food product lines in out-of-home channels within Latin America for brands such as Hellmann´s, Knorr, Arisco, Lipton, and Carte d´Or.
After his experience in Latin America, Peter returned to Europe asGlobal & European Brand Vice President for Family Goodness in the Spreads and Dressings Category. In this role he led the thinking on the positioning of this E2 billion brand globally and took responsibility for the development of its communication, innovation, and visual identity around the world. In his European responsibility, Peter had to secure excellence in the execution of the brand strategy in 28 countries throughout Europe.
November 2010, Peter was appointed Vice President Marketing Australasia. As executive in the board of Unilever Australasia, Peter will be responsible for marketing of all brands (ie, Lipton, Rexona, Persil, Dove, Magnum, Vaseline, Flora, Lux), all categories (food, ice cream, home and personal care) in Australia and New Zealand.
